Millicent P. Nelson

John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.

It is with profound sympathy that we announce the passing of Ms. Millicent P. Nelson.  Ms. Nelson entered into rest on Sunday, October 18, 2020 at Providence Health.

Millicent Nelson was born in Lugoff, South Carolina to the late “Dickie” and Sally Lee Murphy.  Unfortunately, her mother died during childbirth.  Fortunately, she came to the home of George and Geneva Nelson who adopted her. 

She was educated in the Kershaw County School System.  She graduated from Lugoff-Elgin High School.

Millicent received her religious training at an early age when she joined Shiloh United Methodist Church. She was a faithful member and served dutifully.

Millicent had many challenges during her life.  She fought hard to combat struggles with physical and mental difficulties.  She was a survivor and deeply rooted in her faith.

She is survived by her biological sisters: Mildred, Margaret, Paulette, Myrtle, and Norma; a brother: Bobby

Her surviving Nelson Family Members are brothers: Hilliard, Johnny (Sharon), and Anthony (Angela); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Shiloh United Methodist Church.  Mask and Social Distancing will be observed.  Viewing will be held from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
