Mrs. Rosetta H. Hayes of 508 Market St, Camden entered into rest on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at her residence.

Our dear beloved Mother, Rosetta H. Hayes, was born on Sunday, March 25, 1928 to the Late Carolina Hollmon, Sr. (Dobe) and Lillie Gridiron Hollmon (Peggy) in Boykin, South Carolina.  She was raised in a loving Christian home where she learned to love and honor family.  At an early age, she joined Good Hope United Methodist Church.

Rosetta, known as "Etta", married the Late Willie T. (Simp) Hayes, Sr. in 1946. To this union, seven children were born.  Rosetta was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.  She was a member of Camden First United Methodist Church. One of her favorite sayings was, "I don't have much money, but I have a good meal and lots of love to give." Rosetta worked as a cafeteria worker in the Kershaw County School District for 30 years.

She was a dedicated mother who raised more than the seven children she birthed.  If you were raised in "Etta's" house, it was filled with great food and unconditional love by a strong, independent, God-fearing woman.

Preceding her in death: her husband, Willie T. Hayes; two sons: Willie Hayes and Kenneth M. Hayes; three sisters: Letha Arthur, Nancy Belton, and Elsie Johnson; two brothers: Carolina Hollmon, Jr. and Robert Hollmon.

Rejoicing in her memories, but mourning her tremendous loss:  Lillie Cooke-Hayes (Turner Ruffin), Rosetta H. Fleming (Nathaniel), Geraldine H. Brown, Dorothy M. Hayes, Greta A. Sherman (Lawrence), and her adopted daughter, Belita Brown; four sisters: Christine Gathers, Easter Salmond (Leon), Geneva Hollmon, and Naomi Hollmon; one sister-in-law: Dorothy Hollmon; one daughter-in-law: Maggie Hayes; four grandchildren she reared in the home: Gianina Hayes, Tyonne Hayes, Vanaye Allen (Brian), and Marcus Hayes; 23 grandchildren of which she assisted in raising; 30 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, and a special niece who was very faithful and dependable, Carolyn Salmond.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 12:00 PM at Camden First United Methodist Church.  The body will be placed in the church for viewing one hour prior to the service. Public viewing will be held on Tuesday from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
