Caesar White was born to Daniel and Alice (Martin) White, October 11, 1925, and entered in eternal rest on February 12, 2026, four months after celebrating his 100th birthday and on the date of the love of his life of 72 years' 96th birthday.  We can hear him saying "I just didn't want her to forget me!"

Caesar was raised in Ridgeway, SC, being one of 15 siblings (two of which passed prior to Caesar's birth – Cantey and Ross).  Caesar was also preceded in death by his parents and other siblings:  J.C. (John Clinton), Daniel, Booker T, Elester, Charlton, Selvin, Dorothy, Ruby, Pauline, Lassiree (Mozelle), Jozelle, and Alice.  Of the then living children Caesar was sixth. He accepted Christ and was baptized earlier in life.

Caesar was a very disciplined and focused-driven man, always prioritizing the care and support of his family.  Additionally, he and his brothers provided financial support to ensure their younger sisters were able to receive a college education, if desired. This was very important to him, even after he was married and providing for his immediate family.

Caesar joined the U.S. Army in 1943 serving during World War II (Philippines and Germany) and continued his service to include two tours in Vietnam.  After 24+ years, he retired as 1st Sgt. E8 in 1968 and began a second career with the U.S. Postal Service, serving the same amount of time with the combination of the U.S. Postal Service (in Washington, DC) and Bulk Mail Center in Capitol Heights, Maryland.

In his earlier years he was an outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting, preparing and eating moose, pheasant, coon, rabbit, squirrel, and even a few unmentionables that one of his children would not dare eat.

He enjoyed gardening for most of his retirement years, growing collard, mustard and turnip greens, okra, various beans, zucchini squash, and tomatoes.  He particularly loved sharing these with family, church friends, and neighbors, to include figs from the tree that grew in the back of his yard. His gardening continued until about the age of 97 when it became too difficult to be steady on his feet.

As the sole surviving patriarch of his family, Caesar is survived by his wife, Anna (Merx) White; daughter, Lorraine (Frank) Henderson; son, Caesar Daniel (Debbie) White; grandchildren: Ashley (Dan) Hurtado, Frank (Alexis) Henderson, III; Caesar Alexander White;  Zachary White; great grandchildren: Julian and Thea Henderson; and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as grand-nieces and nephews that have enjoyed his many years of storytelling, wit, wisdom, and wonderful sense of humor.

Caesar always wanted to live until he was 100 and we are grateful that God honored him with that blessing.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday, March 1, 2026 at Rock Hill Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:45 AM until 12:45 PM at the church.
