It is with deepest sympathy that we announce the passing of Mrs. Bessie Robinson Watkins who entered into rest October 21, 2024.

Bessie was born on November 30, 1927, in Kershaw County to Tommy and Alice Williams-Robinson.  She was educated in the Kershaw County Public School System, and later married Jessie Watkins.

In addition to her parents, Bessie was preceded in death by her husband Jessie; son, Charles "Butch" Robinson; brothers, Tommy, Sammie, Harry, Allen and Andrew; and sisters, Sallie and Katie.  Bessie's purpose in life was serving others.  She was a phenomenal homemaker, with cleaning and culinary skills that were admired and appreciated by those who were blessed to have known her.  She was a person who enjoyed the company of others, especially those who shared her passion for the game of "bingo".

Bessie lived a humble life, and she was devoted to her family.  Left to cherish her precious memories are a son, Thomas (Dr. Adraine) Robinson of Columbia, South Carolina; a daughter-in-law, Betty J. Robinson of Laurens, South Carolina; a sister, Alice Norfleet of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina; a special niece, Peggy A. Cooke, of Camden, South Carolina; grandsons, Edward Robinson and Michael Robinson of Camden, South Carolina, whom she helped raise; as well as a host of other grands, great-grands, great-great grands, nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Brown's Funeral Home Chapel of Remembrance with the Rev. Ronnie Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM today at the funeral home.
