It is with great sympathy that we announce the passing of Mrs. Katie H. Brown of 146 Battleship Rd, Camden. Mrs. Brown entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 28, 2019 at KershawHealth.
Mother Katie Thelma Howard Brown was born on August 12, 1924 in Ridgeway, South Carolina to the late Jesse and Fannie White Howard.
She was educated in the schools of Kershaw County and graduated from Jackson High School. After graduation, she moved to New York and was employed at Mt. Sinai Hospital for 20 years as a Dietician. Upon retirement, Mother Brown moved back to Camden and joined the family church, Rock Hill Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories one son: Minister Eugene B. Brown (Ronetta) of Camden, SC; one daughter: Shirley L. Brown-Brown (Jim) of Dallas, Ga; grandchildren: Alice R. Young (Tyrone) of Columbia, SC, Camisha H. Williams (Randall) of Elgin, SC, Damion Hayes (Robin) of Camden, SC, Justin A. Brown and Myles J. Brown of Dallas, Ga; great-grandchildren: Breana “Stacy” Blanding, Keana “Shi” Blanding, and Damion Hayes, Jr. all of Camden, SC, Germaine “Duroin” Blanding of Cassatt, SC, Amari Williams and Belle Williams of Elgin; one sister: Edna Howard of Brooklyn, NY; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Rock Hill Baptist Church, Ridgeway. Public viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
