“Jackie,” as she was affectionately known attended Sumter County Public Schools and later completed Technical School in Philadelphia, PA.  Most notably Jackie was a “Phenomenal Cook.”   She spent several years as a seamstress working for various retail businesses.  Early in her life she was offered a modeling career which she did not pursue.   Most notably, Jackie was known for her comedic talent and ability to keep her family entertained.

The religious teaching of her parents and grandmother influenced her to seek the Lord.  She became a member of the Union Baptist Church at an early age.

She was the wife of the late David Alston.  Ms. Alston  leaves to cherish and celebrate her memory  three children, Nathaniel Richard “Tyrone” Miller (Afshawn), Jacques and Johnnie Stover; four sisters, Josephine Doris Wiggins (Hardy), Bertha Thompson, Rosa Keys (Freddie), Iris Joann Parks (Dareck) and one brother Richard Miller (Dianne); six grandchildren, Shrita, Crystal, Amber, Kelley, Sarah and Jonathan; an adopted son Mr. Lloyd Fulton; specially close friends Ms. Dorothy Bethea and Mrs. Linda Patterson;  a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A brother, Mr. Nathaniel Miller, Jr. preceded her in death.
