It is with profound sympathy that we announce the passing of Mrs. Geneva Nelson. Mrs. Nelson entered into rest on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Springdale Healthcare Center.
Geneva “Jit” Nelson was the daughter of the late George and Daisy Harris of Ridgeway, SC.
She was educated and received her religious training at White Oak Baptist Church #2 in Ridgeway.
She was married to the late George Nelson in 1946 and moved to Lugoff where she moved her membership to Shiloh United Methodist Church.
Geneva has been a faithful servant and loved God and her church. “Jit” served in many capacities at Shiloh. She served on the Finance Committee, Senior Choir, and United Methodist Women to name a few.
She leaves to mourn and cherish her memories three sons: Hilliard, Johnny (Sharon), and Anthony (Angela); one daughter: Millicent; five grandchildren: Rhonda, Nick, Darrell, Kimberly, and Cory; two great-grandchildren: Trent and Braylon; two great-great-grandchildren: Ryan and Cali; three sisters-in-law: Willie Mae Brown, Sally Richardson, and Thelma Harris; a host of nieces and nephews; a “Special” family consisting of Mildred, Margaret, Bobby, Paulette, Myrtle, Norma, and Debbie of the Murphy Family.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Shiloh United Methodist Church in Lugoff. The body will be placed in the church for viewing one hour prior to the service. Public viewing will be held on Friday from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
